Phil Minton
Born Torquay, 2 November 1940; Trumpet, voice.
Phil Minton has been working as an improviser/singer/trumpet player over four
decades. His unmistakeable approach and dedication to improvised music is and
has been a great contribution to all fans of music in general. As a voice improvisor
he has been one of the most important figures on the scene, and his breathtaking
solo voice performances are truly worth an experience.
He has been touring extensively since he started with musicians like: John Butcher,
Mike Westbrook Band, Peter Brötzmann, Maggie Nichols, Julie Tippet, Roger
Turner, Veryan Weston to name but a few.
